Thief jailed for stealing Jane Ho's handbag

A man has been jailed for eight months for stealing the handbag of Jane Ho Chiu-ying, eldest daughter of tycoon Stanley Ho. Lau Kin-wah pleaded guilty in Eastern Court to one charge of theft before Magistrate Winston Leung Wing-chung. He stole the handbag from Ms Ho, 60, at the Mandarin Oriental's coffee shop on October 17. Lau fled after taking the bag, with items worth about HK$4,000, but hotel staff caught him.
